Accompanying our Master of Public Health (MPH) program, the School of Public Health offers dual-degree programs in collaboration with other schools across WashU. Students can focus their education across disciplines, enabling them to be leading voices in the realm of public health.

MPH/Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Students in this program earn two degrees: an MPH from WashU Public Health and an MBA from WashU Olin Business. The MPH program positions students to drive health equity by examining health outcomes through epidemiological, policy, sociocultural and population perspectives. The MBA program includes a summer and full academic year of on-campus study, plus global and experiential learning through travel during fall and spring breaks. Together, the dual degree equips students with the knowledge and experience to drive positive progress in the business of health.

MPH/Juris Doctor (JD)

Students in this program earn a Master of Public Health from WashU Public Health and a Juris Doctor from WashU Law. Learning law and public health frameworks, MPH/JD students develop a unique set of skills to recognize, analyze and address urgent legal, health and socioeconomic issues, and to bring evidence-based recommendations to policy, judicial opinion and legal representation.

MPH/Doctor of Medicine (MD)

Available exclusively to current WashU Medicine students, the MD/MPH dual degree program is an opportunity for medical students to earn an MPH with one additional year of study. The program equips physicians with the knowledge and skills to recognize, analyze and address health problems at a population level.

3-2 MPH

Designed exclusively for WashU Arts & Sciences undergraduate students, the 3-2 program allows students to earn an undergraduate degree and a Master of Public Health in five years. With the strength of a WashU undergraduate degree and the experience and expertise our MPH program provides, WashU Public Health’s 3-2 MPH graduates are prepared to drive health equity in research, policy and programming.

MPH/Master of Social Work (MSW)

Social inequities — such as access to education, composition of neighborhoods and availability of safe public spaces — can drive health disparities. This relationship is so strong that there is a term for these influences: social determinants of health. This partnership between WashU Public Health and WashU Brown School integrates public health, social justice and policy to address this complex relationship on local, state, national and international scales.
