To foster excellence in interdisciplinary public health research by ensuring that all SPH research initiatives and programs are well-funded, effectively managed, and adhere to ethical and compliance standards.

Our Pillars

Develop research opportunities

Provide an enhanced environment to identify and cultivate research funding opportunities

  • Assist researchers by identifying external resources and organizing funding consultations for public health research activities.
  • Facilitate multidisciplinary collaborative partnerships and proposals between different schools, departments and researchers within the institution, as well as with external partners.

Prepare extramural submissions

Provide centralized support for SPH PIs and serve as the school’s primary liaison to the Office of the Vice Chancellor of Research

  • Assist in preparing research proposals including budget planning, specific aims and narrative development, and ensuring compliance with agency and university requirements.  
  • Provide expertise in developing complex research proposals such as renewals, program projects, center and training grants, and those with foreign award components.

Support project implementation and management

Provide tools and information for high-quality project management and awareness of changes in federal, agency, and university guidelines

  • Assist in post-award services with SPH grant managers to provide guidance on managing awarded grants, including budget tracking, reporting, and compliance with grant terms and conditions.
  • Offer support for operational management, progress and final report guidance, project closeout, and data sharing and security guidance.
  • Coordinate training and resources for faculty and research staff to stay up to date on research administration policies and procedures, budget compliance, research integrity, human subject protections, and conflict of interest guidelines.
