Scholarships

Dean’s Merit Scholarship
  • Recognizes academic excellence.
  • Renewable for 2 years.
  • Renewal requires a 3.0 GPA and good academic standing.
In St. Louis, For St. Louis Scholarship
  • For students who live in St. Louis City proper.
  • One-year proof of residency is required.
Show Me State Scholarship
  • For Missouri residents.
  • One-year proof of residency is required.
Heartland Scholarship
  • For residents of: Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, or Iowa.
  • One-year proof of residency is required.
3+2 Program Scholarship
  • For students enrolled in the 3+2 program.
Veterans Appreciation Scholarship
  • For current military personnel or veterans (with military ID).
Global Scholarship
  • For international students on a student visa.
Alumni Scholarship
  • For WashU graduates continuing their education.

Graduate assistantships

Nurturing Future Researchers (NFR)
  • Open to first-year MPH students.
  • Application required.
  • Work 10 hours per week in mentored research roles.
  • Receive an hourly stipend.
  • Renewable depending on faculty need and funding.
Nurturing Future Teachers (NFT)
  • Open to second-year MPH students.
  • Application required.
  • Work 10 hours per week in mentored teaching roles.
  • Receive an hourly stipend.

Both assistantships are structured, mentored opportunities that support professional growth while helping offset educational costs.


Additional need-based scholarships determined by FAFSA may further reduce tuition. Students who qualify can receive an average 30% tuition scholarship (~$13,113/year).
